<description>
<full>A Roman cast copper alloy figurine, in the shape of a bird. The figurine appears to have broken off from a much larger object as a stump of copper alloy projects from the upside of the bird&#39;s stomach.
The birds itself looks like an egal or dove. It has its wings out stretched &#45; the wing span measures 33.1mm. From head to tail the bird measures 31.1mm. Feather detail can be seen on the bird&#39;s wings and tail and two engraved rings indicate the eyes. The bird&#39;s beck has been broken slightly, resulting in the loss of the tip. Likewise the tip oone wing is broken away. The head is off centre with what appears to be a pointed plumb. It would appear that the bird would have once had legs, but these have broken off. All that survives of the legs are two small stumps, either side of the attachment stump on the underside of the bird. it weighs 20.16 grams.
Simialr example can be seen on the database: LVPL&#45;CEC272, SUSS&#45;A29F66</full>
