A copper-alloy book clasp of probable Late Medieval to post-Medieval date.

The clasp consists of a sub-rectangular plate which extends at the base, terminating in a wide, backward-facing hook. At the other end a narrow lug terminates in an irregular shaped cross bar, possible how the fitting was attached. The upper surface bears decoration, both incised and stamped; in side a pellet boarder there are two zig zag lines, some cross hatching ans stamped diamond shapes, all of which are crudely done. The object is 48.1mm long, 24.6mm wide, 1.1mm thick and weighs 8.61 grams.
