One pint is missing while the other is worn. The hearts are defined using etched zig-zag lines, a practise commonly referred to as wriggle-work and used frequently on pewter during the 17th Century. Both rivets remain in place, although one is broken, while the other is bent. Both are square in section. Mounts of this style are probably casket mounts, rather than designed for personal adornment, and date from the Late 16th to 17th centuries AD. The mount is 21mm long and 12mm wide. The rivets are 1.4mm thick. It weighs 0.98g. As this object is over 300 years old and more than 10% silver, it has been reported as treasure according to the 1996 Treasure Act.
