The loop has know datable diagnostic features. It is possibly a strap loop and just possibly a very small finger ring, although the small diameter (external 18.43 mm, internal 13.4 mm) and relatively crude execution perhaps makes this less likely. The loop tapers from 4.56 mm in height to 3.55 mm, and from 3.26 mm thick to 2.6 mm. The outer surface is much abraded and corroded but the interior has a smooth dark green patina.
