The artetact is sub-oval in plan, the sides bowing inwards at the point of the vertical perforation. On the obverse is the relief moulded image of the inward-facing heads of St. Peter (right) and St. Paul (left) and, above, the legend 'SPASPE' (abbreviation of 'Saint Paul, Saint Peter'). A beaded border surrounds both heads, extending at the top into a border for the bulla itself. A sceptre divides the two heads. On the reverse, also contained within a beaded border, is the legend 'IOhA/NNES/.PP*.XXII' (*Omega above).
