An incomplete cast copper-alloy hooked toggle-clasp or sword belt fitting of Post-Medieval date. One half of the eye piece survives intact, the remainder of the object now missing due to old breaks. It is rectangular in form and section, terminating at a central circular rivet hold towards the centre of the plate. The eye is rectangular with a transverse rectangular bar at the plate end that is D-shaped in section and decorated on the front face with incised diagonal grooves. At the terminal end is a similar transverse bar, which is curved in form\/profile. An integrally cast flat, circular suspension loop with central circular aperture is present at the bottom edge of the plate close to the terminal end. The entire object measures 23.91mm in length, 21.63mm in width (including loop, 14.68mm excluding loop), 3.40mm in thickness and 5.01g in weight.<\/p>\n
