A late Iron Age, Romano-British button and loop fastener. The fastener has been cast in copper alloy. This fastener is similar to Wild Class 1, with a solid double-boss head and heavy ring-loop (Wild 1970, 137-139, fig I no I).

Only the double boss part of the fitting survives; as the loop has broken off, leaving behind a small worn stump on the flat reverse of the bosses. The double-boss head consists of two parallel identical joining circular bosses each with a rounded front face and a flat back. In the centre of these bosses is a circular recesses surrounded by an annoular collar 7.3mm in diameter. There are smaller collared recesses, 6.7mm in diameter, on either side of the central one. The recesses suggest that they could have once been set with other materials. Similar examples can be seen on the database: SUSS-D18220 and NLM-FE3248.

The fastener is 27.1mm long, 15.9mm wide, 5.1mm thick and weighs 11.8 grams.
