It is as Meols Type C, rectangular in form and section with narrowed rectangular bar and expanded outer edge. The sides of the frame have double vertical ridges and the faces of the outer edge have transverse grooves where they meet the side and three transverse grooves at their centre as pin rests. A separately cast copper-alloy wire pin hinges around the bar and is bent at an angle of 90 degrees due to post-depositional damage. The buckle measures 20.68mm in width, 16.43mm in length, 2.46mm in thickness and 2.14g in weight. It is of Medieval date, c.14th century AD. A cast copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date.
