It has an irregular flattened base with oval shaped projection at the centre and globular projection at one end. Traces of diagonal striations on one of the upper surfaces may indicate this is an object that has been melted down for re-use at a later date, although if this is indeed the case precisely what this may originally have been remains uncertain. It measures 31.63mm in length, 20.49mm in width, 10.50mm in thickness and 13.21g in weight. This fragment of copper-alloy waste may be of any date from the Bronze Age onwards, althought its appearance and striations might indicate a relatively late date in the Post-Medieval or later periods.
