The tip (cutting edge) of a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead dating from c.1000 - 700 BC. The cutting edge, which is worn and rounded, is wider than the rest of the axe with the sides curved slightly inwards and the tip appearing flared. The casting seams are not visible on the edges, but the axe appears very worn with notable loss of patina and signs of bronze disease on one face.
