The bell is spherical and was cast in one-piece. The bell has a thick girth-rib around its circumference and there are two sound holes in the upper hemisphere. A square suspension loop is located at the top between these two sound holes. The lower hemisphere contains two holes joined by a channel forming a sound slot. To one side of this sound slot there were probably the initials of the maker but the bell is too worn for these to be deciphered, on the other side of the slot is the symbol of a hammer. A grooved circle, formed of two semi-circles to either side of the sound slot, encircles the hammer and and worn initials. The sound pea is still present inside the bell.
