The button is sub-circular in plan, convex at the front and concave at the back. However, the rim at the back is flat. It has an integral drilled shank with a circular hole, 2.99mm in diameter. The shank is 7.25mm in depth, has a maximum width of 7.98mm and is 2.37mm thick. The front of the button appears to be plain but may have originally been decorated.
The front has traces of a green patina and the back is largely covered in off- white and light green corrosion products. A small portion of the rim is missing due to damage or abrasion.
