The mount consists of a wider broken end, a rectangular section, followed by a semi-circular end with an elongated sub-oval knop. Within the semi-circular end, there is a circular rivet hole positioned off-centre. In the area between the semi-circular end and the rectangular segment, there are two raised horizontal collars; no traces of gilding or further decoration remain. The reverse surface is flat, but the mount is slightly curved, making the mount generally D-shaped in cross-section.
