An incomplete fragment from the leg of a cast copper-alloy cooking vessel. It is rectangular in form, triangular in section with a prominent vertical mid-rib on the front face. The fragment terminates in old breaks at top and bottom, and on all exterior surfaces there are traces of thick sooting indicative of exposure to high temperatures and probably resultant of use as a cooking vessel. It measures 17.97mm in length, 28.67mm in width, 12.73mm in thickness and 15.26g in weight. This is a fragment from the leg of a Medieval cooking vessel, c.14th-15th centuries AD in date.
