Obverse: laureate, draped and cuirassed bust facing left
Obverse legend: [FL] [I]VL CONSTANTIVS NOB C
Reverse: camp gate, two turrets, no doors; star above, six stone layers
Reverse legend: [PR]OVIDEN-[TIAE] (CAESS)
Discussion: The mint is uncertain; possibly Lyon, however, the remains of the mint suggest 'ON' indicating that the mint was meant to be CONST or a variation such as CONS or CONSA, which could suggest Arles, as it was renamed Constantia, or Constantinople itself. For closest examples, cf. RIC VII, p137, No. 233 for Lyon mint; for Constantinople mint cf.: RIC VII, p571, No. 10 and p572, No. 21. Similar examples have also been found for the following mints, but do not seem to match the remains of the mint mark here: Nicomedia, Rome, Cyzicus and Alexandria.","","","2012-01-30 13:51:03","2012-01-31 15:30:00","4","","1","2010-11-02","","","Date listed is date submitted for recording.","","1","1","1","1","","","","","","04bowmant","Toby","SUSS","stephaniesmith","Stephanie Smith","Copper alloy","","","","Struck or hammered","","Complete","Fair","Certain","ROMAN","ROMAN","","Metal detector","","Miss Stephanie Smith","","Mr Toby Bowman","WEST SUSSEX","FINDON","ARUN","","","","TQ1109","TQ1109","TQ10NW","","","","","","","","Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust facing left.","[FL] [I]VL CONSTANTIVS NOB C","Came gates with two towers; star above and six stone layers.","[PR]OVIDEN-[TIAE] [CAESS]","Nummus (AE 1 - AE 4)","3","","","","16","7","3","","435","","","","Regular","2","1","3","2","","[C?]ON[S(T/A)]","1","","","","Constantius II","","Period 16","317-330","Constantinople (Istambul, Turkey)","Very worn: fair","7 o'clock","","","101","13","PROVIDENTIAE CAESS","367385","SUSS6A0475.jpg","images/04bowmant/",
