A post-Medieval cast copper-alloy knife end-cap (c. 1500-c. 1600 AD).
\nThe cap is in the form of two conjoined and symmetrical stylised horse's hoofs. It is sub-oval in cross-section. The terminal ends are flat and each has a central groove running lengthways. At the opposite end a rectangular slot is filled with the remains of a corroded iron tang.
\nThe surface has no patina and is covered with off-white and light green corrosion products.
\nHeight: 11.36mm; width: 15.47mm; thickness: 8.02mm. Weight: 5.11g.
