The cap is in the form of two conjoined and symmetrical stylised horse's hoofs. It is sub-oval in cross-section. The terminal ends are flat and each has a central groove running lengthways. At the opposite end a rectangular slot is filled with the remains of a corroded iron tang.
The surface has no patina and is covered with off-white and light green corrosion products.
