A complete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy mount (c. 1600-c. 1700 AD).<\/p>\n
The mount is moulded at the front and broadly flat at the rear. Its body is sub-oval in plan, narrower at one end. It has a trefoil terminal at one end and a small rounded knop at the opposite end. At the front the body has a flower motif which has five petals and a central pellet. The rear face has two integral spikes, one at each end of the body.
\nThis mount has no patina and the surface metal is a reddish brown colour, partially obscured by light green corrosion products.
