LITHIC IMPLEMENT</objecttype>
<descriptions>
<description>
<full>Lithic Implement: Incomplete possible end scraper of probable Neolithic date. The flake, from which the tool is made is a secondary flake with cortex covering one of the sides, more recent damage may have removed further areas of cortex and the tool does not appear to be complete. The probable scraping edge clearly has fine retouch although due to more recent damage this area is incomplete hence the difficulty in categorising this artefact as a specific tool. The tool does have the classic negative scar on the distal face, where the thumb would sit in order to apply pressure during usage. The flint is semi&#45;translucent and has a grey&#45;brown patina.
End Scrapers were manufactured utilising both long long and short flakes and also blades. Dated to the Neolithic, c.3500 BC to 2100 BC, probably early Neolithic, c.3500 BC to 2900 BC.</full>
