STRAP END
Unique ID: NCL-175127
Object type certainty: Certain
A cast copper-alloy strap end of Medieval date, c. 1200-1500.
The strap end is incomplete, missing one corner. It consists of a rectangular split plate, in which the majority of the strap end is split. The circular perforations inside the outer edge, furthest from the split end, indicate where the strap was fixed to the plate, with one copper-alloy rivet remaining. A simple incised line set inside the outer edge forms a border, but there is no other decoration.
