A fragment of a cruciform brooch of Anglo-Saxon manufacture, dating to the 6th century.<\/p>\n
Only the foot remains, with a break above an undecorated panel, separated from the horsehead terminal by two bands across the width. The terminal has raised 'ears' with incised diagonal lines (3) below each ear, separating the ears from the now worn eyes. The nostrils are raised scrolls on the rounded tip of the terminal.<\/p>\n
