A complete, Early-mid Roman, struck or hammered, copper alloy, sestertius. Obverse: Possible vague head outline. Inscription: Illegible. Reverse: Probable central figure. Inscription: Illegible. Die axis: probably 12 o'clock. The coin is slightly 'squared', circular, flat but is in poor condition, extremely worn with a very corroded surface and nibbled edges. There is a loose or flaky pale green coloured matt surface probably as a result of being found in water logged ground. This coin is likely to date to 43-250AD. Ref. Coins of England and the UK, Spink 2011, page 50-55. The coin is 30.60mm long, 28.73mm wide, 3.08mm thick, diameter 30.60mm and weighs 6.4g.
