A Medieval copper alloy strap end dating from 1400 - 1600. The strap end tapers to a ball shaped terminal with a groove running around the perimeter just above the ball.There is a rivet through the plate 3.66mm from the open end. Part of the reverse side has been broken. There is a crack running up one side terminating just above the ball. The metal is light green and a piece of textile remains trapped in the open end. The sides of the strap end are at different angles which may be owing to Post Depositional damage. It weighs 1.4g and measures 20.57mm in length and 9.07mm in width and it weighs 1.7 grams. A very close parallel is NCL-36D588.<\/p>\n
