<description>
<full>An incomplete, cast, copper&#45;alloy candlestick of late Medieval&#45;Post&#45;Medieval date, c. 1400&#45;1550.
The candlestick consists of a large, but incomplete socket and an integral projecting shank on its base that would have fitted into a socket of branching arm or base to hold the candlestick. The socket tapers very slightly from the rim to the base, and the whole object is cast solid. The only decoration is a moulded double&#45;collar along the rim of the socket.
The copper&#45;alloy appears to have a high lead component.</full>
