MOUNT
Unique ID: NCL-955D55
Object type certainty: Certain
An incomplete, cast, copper-alloy mount of Post-Medieval date, c. 1600-1800.
The mount consists of sub-rectangular body with concave side lengths, and an extended rectangular terminal with a slightly flared end. A break at the end opposite the terminal, where the body is bent may be indicative of a hinge or some other type of fitting. The body has incised decoration of two lines that parallel each other, tracing the outline of the object. The reverse is undecorated, but slightly concave and the remains of soldering points can be seen.
This is a find of note and has been designated: Include in MedArch
