A resized image of Early Medieval pinhead

An incomplete, cast copper-alloy pinhead of Early Medieval date, c. 750-900.

Only the head remains, and this is diamond-like in section, with a domed head and three circular facets on the lower half. These facets are irregular in shape in size. The base of the pinhead indicates where it was soldered to the shaft.
