Pottery body sherd that appears to be a section through the pot with a moulded ovoid lug on the exterior with a finger tip impression below it which may not have been deliberate. This thick sherd is made of granitic admixture clay, so the fabric has inclusions of granite and mica and additional inclusions such as quartz not natural to the clay to make it an admixture. The sherd is mid-brown on the exterior and interior of the sherd with dark brown patches. This type of granitic admixture fabric is seen in Bronze Age vessels, dating from c.2100-1150 BC, and this sort of lug provides a link with the Trevisker Ware tradition (Henrietta Quinnell, forthcoming).
Nowakowski (1991) illustrates examples of rectangular and ovoid lugs on Trevisker Ware vessels from Trethellan, Newquay on page 117, Fig.48, Nos.46 & 48, which are dated from c.1500-1200 BC.
