A lead figurine in the shape of an African person's head, with a sub rectangular shank protruding where the body should be. The head is slightly upturned and there is appears to be a carved hat on top of the head. The face is carved into the lead and a neck is apparent. It weighs 82.7g and measures 62.99mm in length, the head is 19.12mm wide and the face is 24.48mm thick.
Several similar objects can be found on this database (e.g. NARC-DC03B3, KENT5054, IOW-B47783, SWYOR-790331). They come from the lids of tobacco jars and probably date to the 18th century.
