The clasp is the hookpiece, having an externally protruding loop. The loop is rectangular in plan. The plate is also rectangular in plan and divided into two areas, a raised area and a flat area. The raised area is adjacent to the loop and comprises three raised rectangular panels. The flat area contains two circular holes. This clasp appears to be of Hines's form B20.
