The object comprises a loop (with sub-rectangular cross-section) with a flat rectangular plate integral at the top and a short pointed projection at the bottom. With the forefinger through the loop, and the thumb resting on the plate, the projection comfortably rests against the second finger. A second projection from near the bottom of the loop is a strip which is broken at the end. This would have connected the handle to the saucer.
