It has a central grey-purple stone or piece of cut glass in the shape of a coffin within a gold coffin-shaped setting, surrounded by an engraved skeleton on the gold band. In the internal face of the ring is the inscription W ALLBURY OB 18' FEB 1726 CET 74 (W Allbury died 18th February 1726 aged 74) followed by the stamped maker's mark CB.
