BLADE

Unique ID: PUBLIC-CC95B5

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A thick blade of dark grey flint with cream flecks. There is a patch of pebble cortex on the distal end. This has a pinkish hue and may be a sign that the pebble was heat treated prior to it being used as a blade core. The dorsal surface carries parallel and opposing blade scars. The proximal end has been removed by a straight truncation which has been shallowly retouched as an end scraper. There has been slight edge-work on the left margin. The right margin has a mesal notch or hollow side scraper.Butler(2005) illustrates a blade on page 107, fig 43, 2
