This piece is in the shape of an isosceles triangle. The proximal tip is at one corner. The ventral face has a bulb and hinged removal. There is some semi-abrupt retouch to the distal long, hollow margin. The dorsal face retains secondary cortex. Its left face margin has been cleanly snapped. Its right margin has some abrupt abraded retouch. The main work has been on the distal margin in two phases. Semi-abrupt retouch to create an edge, which ha sbeen blunted with abrupt retouch to create an hollowed edge.
It is made from a clerical grey to black flint. It was probably derived from a local beach pebble by the look of its secondary cortex. It is heavily abraded.
Butler (2005) illustrates a similar tool on Page 52 Fig 19 No 3, which he places in the Neolithic period and calls a hollow scraper.
