Weight; cast lead suspension weight of uncertain date. The weight is a long, tapering circular cone of lead, with a slight curve to its profile. The circular end is slightly concave and there are traces of iron in the centre of this end, suggesting that it originally had an iron suspension loop embedded in the lead. This indicates that it may have been used as a plumb bob or to weigh down a line or similar. The object is of very simple manufacture and as such it is difficult to make any accurate suggestion about its date of use.
