A silver hammered halfgroat of Edward IV's first reign light coinage, date range 1461-1470. Obverse shows foward facing crowned bust, knot below bust, within a multifoil border. Obverse legend reads [ED]WARD'DI GRA[REX...]. Reverse shows a solid long cross with three pellets per quarter and a spur in one quarter. Reverse outer legend reads POSVI/DEVM[A]/[IVT]OR/E'MEVM inner reverse legend reads CIVI/TAS/CAN/TOR. Mint is Canterbury. Die axis is half way between 4 o'clock and 5 o'clock. Weight is 1.70g, diameter is 20.12mm, thickness is 0.76mm. See North, Vol. II, p.88, no.1590.
