A cast copper-alloy Anglo-Scandinavian stirrup terminal mount of the 11th century.<\/p>\n
The sub-cylindrical terminal is zoomorphic and depicts a the head of a dog\/wolf or some other best with moulded decoration forming ears, eyes, snout cleary. The end of the snout bear evidence for a break and some iron corrosion, while the base of the head seems to have had a split end, with one of the arms of the split end missing.
