A stud chape from a Post-Medieval buckle, c. 1660-1720.

The chape is cast in copper alloy and is sub-triangular in plan with cast integral barrel hinge fittings on the edge of the broad base. A separate mushroom-shaped stud has been fixed to the flaring terminal of the chape.
