The axe is sub-rectangular in shape with a square butt end that is substantially corroded and incomplete. The axe is generally flat in profile; however there is a definite gradual thickening towards the centre of the body of the axe. The sides of the axe are also slightly rounded. The blade of the axe shows signs of a slight flare, suggesting a splayed crescent shaped blade. The blade however is badly corroded and incomplete. There are no signs on the body of the axe of ridges, stops or flanges.<\/p>\n
