An incomplete late medieval to post medieval copper alloy mount, probably a book clasp. The mount is roughly diamond shaped with four squared protrusions. The rectangles, made up of the protrusions and the sections of the body between them, are pitted for decoration. They seperate the central diamond area from the hook (now broken) at one end, and a fan-shaped terminal with central rivet hole at the other. The edge of the fan has suffered from small loses. The mount\/clasp partially retained its yellow brassy colour, but other areas are covered in a brown corrosion product.
