It has an expanded waist in the centre, from which either end tapers to a point. One end terminates in a sharp point while the opposite end has a rectangular cross section and narrows to a flat terminal which is broken. The flattened side may have been used as a tang and could have been inserted into a socket. The object has a dark green patina and is pitted.
Such construction is typical of prehistoric awls which are thought to date from the late Bronze Age.
