The object is incomplete with two rectangular arms and the remains of a third arm. The arms are rectangular in cross-section and flare out slightly towards before they terminate in a folded over loop. There is a large regular perforation in the centre of the object through which would have been attached a central shaft or stem. The object has a dark brown patina and is worn.
The lamp hanger would have been used with chains, to be suspended, and to have hanging lamps suspended from it. A similar example coming from a fourteenth century context from Medieval London, is illustrated in Egan, The Medieval Household, no.357. Similar examples which can be found on the database are SF-A9D0C5 and ESS-DB3F66.","","","2011-10-25 14:13:04","2011-11-03 13:15:00","4","","1","2011-07-01","","","Found while metal detecting","","1","1","1","1","","","","","","voakden","Vanessa Oakden","LVPL","voakden","Vanessa Oakden","Copper alloy","","","","Cast","","Incomplete","Fair","Certain","","","","Metal detector","","Ms Vanessa Oakden","","Ms Vanessa Oakden","CHESHIRE","","CHESTER","","","","","SJ3870","SJ37SE","","","","","","Mollington ","Calculated from postcode","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","351978","IMG_3730.jpg","images/voakden/",
