A copper alloy farthing trade token dating from the 17th century.

Obverse: Arms of the Mercer's company. " *NICHOLAS CHAPPILOW"

reverse:" * / N C / * " in field and " * IN WEIGHTON 1664"

Notes:

This token was recorded from details in a letter dated 1990 from The Searcher which notes that this is only the third known example of this type, and cites Whitting 1969 "Coins, Tokens and Medals of the East Riding of Yorkshire" number W229 as another example of the same type. The token has been lost since it was examined by The Searcher and the FLO has not seen it nor an image of it.
