The body is sub-oval in shape with a slightly domed front and has a shell-like decoration; the undecorated back is smooth and slightly concave. There are two pierced knops for attachment at one end of the body, flanking a now missing rectangular fastening loop. At the opposite end there would have been another pierced knop for attachment but this has been broken off. The catch plate has a light green patina. A complete example of the same design is SUR-11C176, and compare also WILT-20E648. The Surrey record notes that the clasps belong to Read's Class A, Type 7.
