{"recordID":"458864","finds":[{"created2":"2011 08 18","description":"<p>An incomplete Post-Medieval cast copper alloy spherical bell, including its ferrous striker (pea). It dates from about 1500-1700. It is divided into two hemispheres by a prominent median ridge. The lower hemisphere has a long aperture with rounded ends (sound hole). The upper hemisphere has a circular hole, and a dent where a second hole should probably be. Inside the bell is the remnant of the iron pea which is loose inside. On the top of the upper hemisphere are the remnants of the rectangular attachment loop which has broken off. The bell is undecorated and has a mixed light green and light brown patina.
