Copper alloy

Lock fragment. Cast sub-rectangular plate with a curved edge; opposite edge broken. One side is stamped with legend reading: PATENT/LOCK/[crown]/VR. Suggested date: Modern, 1840-1900. This object was kindly recorded by P. Horton of the Hibaldstow History Club.

Length: 21.8mm, Width: 24.8mm, Thickness: 1.8mm, Weight: 5.79gms.
