<descriptions>
<description>
<full>A complete cast copper alloy pendant in the shape of a cross, of probable Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (14th to 17th Centuries AD).
The pendant is in the shape of a long cross. The suspension loop has been cast integally and has been set at right angles at the top of the cross. The hole is circular in shape and has an internal diameter of 2.15mm. A thin straight raised border is present along the edges on both the front and the back.
The front and the back have both been decorated with cast decoration. The front exhibits a central cross, with extra head bar and a pellet underneath the main cross. Open lozenges, with a central pellet are present at the ends of each arm. Pellets are present on the short arms between the central cross and the lozenges. Joining the lozenge and the central cross, on the lower arm of the cross is an open oval, with two pellets placed inside it.
The reverse of the pendant appears to have seven rows of lettering, which is either in Arabic or is illegible.
The pendant is a mid to dark green colour, with an even surface patina.
It measures 38.20mm in length, 21.21mm wide and 5.24mm thick. It weighs 2.3 grams.</full>
