An incomplete fired clay/pottery 'chicken feeder' of Post-Medieval date. It has a flat base that is roughly oval shaped in form but missing its outer edges due to old breaks. This is formed from a well-refined clay that has some grog tempering, is an orange/brown colour and has fired grey at the core. On the front face of the object are a series of three surviving, and probably a fourth, projecting circumferential rings that divide the surface into four deep circular troughs into which grain or water may have been placed. It measures 185mm in length, 150mm in width, 35mm in height, 9mm in thickness at base, and weighs 511g. This is an unusual ceramic/pottery vessel, probably a chicken feeder. Its findspot suggests an early Post-Medieval date, possibly in the 16th to 17th centuries AD.
