Thimble or Sewing Ring. Cast conical open topped thimble. A foot-ring is formed by two circumferential rouletted bands. Above this, lentoid and swirling zones formed of round and oval punch marks leave an unbordered plain reserve as an undulating line, and a pelta-shaped plaque bordered by punchmarks. A double indented line above this feature separates lower decoration from further punched and plain areas where the scheme is here obscured by wear and damage. The finder reports his attempts at restoration and reshaping have left the object fragile. The object is (now?) unusually tall.
