Copper alloy
Possible Door Fitting. Possible part of lock plate. Fragment of a cast rectangular plate with a rectangular rebate on one broken edge (perhaps for the movement of a Yale latch), and a lightly countersunk screw hole at the opposite broken edge (perhaps to fasten plate to door). A further curving edge is probably a random break. The finder observes this fragment is probably machined. Suggested date: Modern, 1930-1960.
