An incomplete copper-alloy strap end of Medieval date. It is missing one plate and half of the copper-alloy spacer due to old breaks, and has been bent to an angle of 90 degrees due to post-depositional damage. It has a flat rectangular plate that narrows towards the terminal end, which has a projecting terminal knop. At the centre of the attachment end and the centre of the terminal end are central rivet holes containing separately cast copper-alloy rivets with flattened round heads. On the back face of the terminal end is an incomplete copper-alloy spacer of the same width as the surviving plate, held in place by the rivet. It measures 23.12mm in (bent) length. 10.08mm in width, 2.58mm in thickness, and weighs 2.43g.
This is a Medieval composite sheet copper-alloy strap end similar to examples from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991: nos. 696, 698). It is of probable 14th century AD date.
